Mars Explorers

Inspired by the real-life scientific mission Hypatia Mars, led entirely by women, Mars Explorers imagines what life on the Red Planet could be like. 

On Mars, a group of robots tirelessly collects data so scientists on Earth can learn as much as possible about this distant world. But when a meteorite crashes into the antenna that connects Earth and Mars, communication is suddenly lost. Restoring the signal is urgent if the research is to continue. To solve the problem, the space agency launches the astronaut mission Hypatia II. Ariadna, Mònica, Estel, Marina, Anna, Helena, and Jennifer are sent to repair the antenna and reestablish contact between the two planets. 

The task, however, will not be easy. As they explore an unknown and hostile environment, the astronauts must face unexpected challenges on a planet full of dangers. Will they succeed?

Like the mission that inspired it, this book aims to encourage girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), fields in which women are still underrepresented.
