Mallorca, today. The protagonist, a writer in the midst of a turbulent emotional crisis, investigates a forgotten expedition of two SS officers to the island in 1940, who knows if it is related to a list of spies, but also with a mysterious objective.
Between the woman he has left and the one who may leave him, an obsessive search leads him to connect past and present: Franco’s repression, the violence of the Transition, a second list of possible assassination targets for far-right groups in the seventies and the secrets of a family marked by guilt and silence.
With ramifications on Mallorcan, Spanish and global current events, the investigation becomes increasingly dangerous, while running parallel to the protagonist’s moral scrutiny and his confrontation with his own convictions, commitment and desire.
