Armand Puig

Armand Puig a historian, biblical scholar, and priest, recognized for his work on the symbolic and spiritual dimensions of Antoni Gaudí’s architecture.

He is the author of The Sagrada Família According to Gaudí (2010) and co-author, with architect Jordi Bonet, of Architecture and Symbolism of the Sagrada Família (2013). His new biography of Gaudí consolidates decades of research into a lucid, compelling portrait of one of Europe’s most visionary creators.

Puig holds a PhD in Biblical Sciences and currently serves as President of the Holy See’s Agency for the Evaluation and Promotion of Quality in Ecclesiastical Universities and Faculties, based in Rome. He was formerly Dean and Rector of the Ateneu Universitari Sant Pacià (Barcelona), and coordinated the translation team of the Catalan Interconfessional Bible. He has published extensively on biblical and theological topics, including Jesus: A Biographical Profile (2004), translated into seven languages.
